Program Introduction

Established under the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Processing at Mersin Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone, Vocational School of Technical Sciences, the Chemical Technology Program has started admitting students at the associate degree level in the 2021-2022 period. It can benefit from all the infrastructure and social facilities of the Mersin Organized Industrial Zone, where it is located in the Technical Sciences Vocational School Campus.
With its young, dynamic, and qualified academic staff, our department provides training to train professionals who can work in the industry, update themselves with innovative ideas, and have the ability to put theoretical knowledge into practical studies, in parallel with the latest developments in the chemistry sectors. In the Chemistry Program, after the theoretical education on the basis of physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, industrial chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, technical staff with sufficient knowledge and skills will be gained in the use of instrumental analysis devices, interpretation of results, and necessary computer programs. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish. In addition, our graduates can transfer vertically to the departments related to Chemistry with the Vertical Transfer Exam made by ÖSYM, and they can also register to the appropriate programs affiliated to Open Education Faculties with no exam.

Program Goal
The goal of the program; To train well-equipped chemistry technicians who have an analytical mindset, who are entrepreneurial, who use technology effectively, who can respond to the needs of the industry, who can write innovation-oriented R&D projects.

Program Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Higher Education Institution (YÖK), student admission to this program; is provided by the examination system made by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Our program accepts students according to the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), which is a central placement exam score type.
